Last night, Ghana’s stage of honour expanded and among the elegant women celebrated at the Ghana Women’s Awards held at the Accra International Conference Centre stood Empress Gifty recognised as Outstanding Entertainer of the Year. Who Is Empress Gifty?
Empress Gifty also known as Gifty Osei (now Gifty Adorye) is a Ghanaian gospel musician, entrepreneur, and style icon. She is the first gospel artiste in Ghana to reach 1 million followers on Instagram. She is not only known for her music and voice but also for her fashion sense and brand presence.
Her roots lie in the Central and Western Regions of Ghana. Her foundational education was in Tema: Mantey Din Primary School and Oninku Junior Secondary School. After completing basic schooling she attended a fashion school in Tema. She later established her own fashion school, training students in fashion and lifestyle an early indication of how brand and music would merge in her journey.
Fashion has always been part of her identity. In interviews,she has spoken about how her style, presentation, and persona are integral to how she expresses gospel ministry in the modern age.
