I turned online criticism into motivation – Sefa

Ghanaian Afrobeats and Afropop singer Sefa, born Sefadzi Abena Amesu, has opened up about how a painful comment she once saw on social media later became a source of motivation in her music journey.
In an interview on Daybreak Hitz, the singer shared that she once came across a tweet on Twitter that questioned her talent and suggested that her record label boss was wasting money on her.
Sefa said the comment really hurt her because the person who wrote it had no idea how much effort, sacrifice, and hard work she was putting into her music behind the scenes.
She explained that many people on social media are quick to judge artists based only on what they see online, without understanding the struggles and dedication that go into building a music career.
At the time, reading the comment was very upsetting for her. But instead of letting it break her spirit, she decided to turn the criticism into motivation.
According to Sefa, that moment pushed her to reflect on how far she had come and how much she had already invested in her craft. It gave her new strength and determination to work even harder and prove to her critics that she truly belongs in the music industry.
