Akwaboah – Odo Ankasa (ft. Kwesi Arthur)

Akwaboah and Kwesi Arthur share the mic on Akwaboah Odo Ankasa, a new single that arrived on 16 October 2026. The song is on Akwaboah’s official YouTube channel and comes under his own Akwaboah Music label.

The full name of the record is Odo Ankasa (feat. Kwesi Arthur). Kwesi Arthur is the guest, and his name sits beside Akwaboah’s on the YouTube upload. That makes this a proper joint record and not a passing cameo.

The pairing is a good one on paper. Akwaboah is rooted in Highlife, and the new single also carries an Afrobeats pulse. Kwesi Arthur brings a rapper’s delivery to that mix. Two artists from different corners of Ghanaian music on one track is always worth a listen.

This is my own reaction, not a claim about the lyrics, but the pairing points to a record built on melody and warmth. That has long been the pull of Akwaboah’s music, and a rap verse gives the song a second voice and a change of pace.

Odo Ankasa also arrives with a bigger project in view. Akwaboah is pointing fans towards his Lighthouse album, and he has placed the stream link for it beside the new release. The single adds to a busy run of music from him through 2026.

That run has moved quickly. On 9 October, a week before this song, he put out the official music video for Pressure. Before that came Helping Hand with Zac Celinder on 30 August, and Work Before You Marry on 31 July.

We covered the last of those when it dropped. If you missed it, you can read about Akwaboah’s Work Before You Marry and then come back to the new single.

The year started with a string of collaborations. In February he teamed up with Sarkodie on You Know, which came with a visualiser. In March he released Akwaboah, the Lighthouse intro, with Nana Asaase. A week later came Same Same, a song themed around the 2026 World Cup.

Seen together, these releases show an artist who has kept his audience fed in the months before the album. He has now worked with Sarkodie, Nana Asaase, Zac Celinder and Kwesi Arthur. Each collaboration has its own mood, and none of them repeats the last.

For fans, that variety matters. A listener who came for the football song Same Same will hear something different on Pressure. Someone who loved the Sarkodie collaboration will find another side of Akwaboah on this Kwesi Arthur record. The Lighthouse intro with Nana Asaase hints at how wide the album may run.
