Lasmid – Mmrɛ (Time)

Takoradi rapper Lasmid drops a new single, and Lasmid Mmrɛ is already climbing the charts in Ghana. The song, titled Mmrɛ (Time), came out on 6 November 2026 on Apple Music and other streaming platforms.

Two days later, on 8 November 2026, the record stood at number 52 on the Shazam Top 200 Ghana chart. That is a quick start for a song that had only just landed. It tells you listeners are already identifying the track in clubs, taxis, shops and on their timelines and wanting to know more.

Lasmid is the only artist on the record. There are no guest verses, so the song rests on his voice and his pen alone. N.E Records handles the release.

The song is a rap record and it belongs to the lane that first made Lasmid a name. Mmrɛ is the Twi word for time, and in my own view it is a theme that suits an artist who has spent several years moving quickly from contest winner to chart regular. Time is something every Ghanaian talks about, whether it is waiting for it, chasing it or running out of it.

Lasmid Mmrɛ is a fresh entry in a busy year for the rapper. Earlier in 2026, he released the official video for No Issues with King Promise, which arrived on 3 February. The song itself had come out as an official audio on 7 November 2025, and a Hue Session performance followed on 8 November 2025.

Before that, on 30 June 2025, he put out three tracks on the same day. They were olivia, magic with TML Vibez and ololufe, also with TML Vibez. The run shows an artist who likes to keep his catalogue moving and who is comfortable working with other voices as well as on his own.

For anyone newer to his story, Lasmid was born Ladsmid Nathaniel Owusu on 24 May 1999. He is a rapper and songwriter from Takoradi in the Western Region, and he was once known as Charger. He grew up partly in a village near Dunkwa and went to Takoradi Technical Institute for senior high school.

After school, he entered MTN Hitmaker. He won the eighth season in 2019 and received a GH₵120,000 recording contract. Producer Kaywa then signed him to his label, Highly Spiritual Music.

His big breakthrough came in 2022 with Friday Night. The single went viral on TikTok and topped several charts in Ghana. That same year, Nigerian singer Naira Marley expressed interest in signing him to his label.

By 2022, Lasmid had already worked with Sarkodie, Medikal, Kofi Kinaata, Dead Peepol, Mr Drew, Kuami Eugene and Amerado. He also gained wide attention through a remix of his single Sika, which featured Kuami Eugene. Those names say plenty about where he sits in Ghanaian music, between rap, hiplife and the younger street sound.

Where to stream Lasmid Mmrɛ

You can stream Lasmid Mmrɛ now on Apple Music and other major streaming stores. Search for Mmrɛ (Time) by Lasmid, and make sure you pick the right version, since several songs share the word time in their names.

Lasmid has also been busy on the live side. If you want to see him on stage, read our earlier story on how he was confirmed for Tidal Rave 2026 at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel. A new song like this will matter when a crowd is waiting for his set.

So the new Lasmid single is out, it has entered the Ghana chart within days and it adds another solo record to his catalogue. Stream Mmrɛ (Time), tell us which line you replayed first and share it with a friend who still says he has no time for new music.
