Accra High Court Confirms Kwadwo Safo Jnr (Akofena) as Successor to Kantanka Empire

The Accra High Court has officially confirmed Israel Kwadwo Safo Jnr, popularly known as Akofena, as the rightful successor to the Kantanka Empire following the reading of the will of the late Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

The court’s decision brings clarity to the leadership of one of Ghana’s most recognizable indigenous business empires, ending uncertainty surrounding the succession after the passing of the renowned inventor, industrialist, and founder. By upholding the provisions contained in the late Apostle Safo Kantanka’s will, the High Court affirmed Akofena as the individual entrusted to lead the empire into its next chapter.

The Kantanka Empire has grown into a symbol of Ghanaian innovation and entrepreneurship, with interests spanning automobile manufacturing, engineering, agriculture, education, broadcasting, and other sectors. Under the vision of its founder, the organization became widely recognized for promoting local industrialization and demonstrating that world-class products could be developed in Ghana.

The ruling is expected to provide stability for the empire’s operations and reassure employees, business partners, and supporters who have closely followed developments regarding its future leadership. Many observers believe the confirmation will help preserve the founder’s legacy while creating an opportunity for continued growth and expansion under new leadership.

As the officially recognized successor, Akofena now assumes the responsibility of building upon the vision established by his late father. Supporters will be looking to see how he strengthens the empire’s achievements, drives innovation, and maintains the values that have defined the Kantanka name for decades.

The High Court’s confirmation marks a significant milestone in the history of the Kantanka Empire, bringing legal certainty to its succession and opening a new era for one of Ghana’s most influential homegrown enterprises. With the leadership question now settled, attention is expected to shift toward the future direction of the organization and its continued contribution to Ghana’s industrial and economic development.
