Kuami Eugene – Ajei (Official Fun Video)

Kuami Eugene Ajei is the singer’s latest single, and its fun video went up on his official YouTube channel on 22 October 2026. The Afrobeats record is out on streaming platforms from the same day.

The song comes through Clear Road Music Records and ONErpm. Kuami Eugene performs it on his own, and the upload carries the title Kuami Eugene – Ajei (Fun Video).

Ajei is a fresh Kuami Eugene new song at a busy point in his year. He has kept a steady run of releases going since late 2025, and this one continues it. A fun video suggests a lighter, more playful mood than a full-scale cinematic shoot, and that suits the song.

On the record, Kuami Eugene moves between Twi and English, a habit that has long been part of his writing and one that sits comfortably with Ghanaian listeners. The chorus leans on repeated chants that are easy to pick up on a first listen. A second section is built on a call-and-response pattern, with a short phrase thrown back and forth over the beat.

That kind of writing travels well in clubs, in taxis and on short video apps. It is my own reaction, but the chant is the part of the song that stayed with me longest.

Kuami Eugene is no newcomer to this kind of release. Born Eugene Kwame Marfo on 1 February 1997, he is a Ghanaian singer-songwriter and record producer who works in Highlife and Afrobeats. He was born to Alex and Juliana Marfo in Akim Oda and spent his early years singing in church, where he also learned the drum, keyboard and guitar.

He later attended Salvation Army Senior High School at Akim-Wenchi. He also grew up around Fadama, a suburb of Accra. Those foundations in church music and live instruments still show in how he builds his songs. He was previously signed to Lynx Entertainment and Empire Distribution.

His list of hits includes “Angela”, “Wish Me Well”, “Ohemaa” and “Wa Ye Wie”. Awards followed quickly. He won the Unsung award at the Ghana Music Awards in 2017 and the New Artist award in 2018, and he also won at the Ghana Music Awards UK. The Most Promising Artist in Africa award from AFRIMA and LynxGhana came as well.

In 2019 he received seven nominations at the Ghana Music Awards and won Album of the Year, Producer of the Year and Highlife Artist of the Year. At the 2020 edition he was crowned Artist of the Year and Highlife Artist of the Year.

Ajei follows several videos from the past few months. We Go (Official Music Video) landed on 27 August 2026, and you can read our report on Kuami Eugene’s We Go. Before that came I’m Hurt on 23 July and Makola on 11 July.

In May he shared Stranger, a visualiser with Gyakie, and in February he put out the official video for Scatter. His Instagram video arrived on 24 October 2025, almost exactly a year before Ajei.

Taken together, that gives fans six releases on his YouTube channel in roughly twelve months, and four of them are official music videos from 2026 alone. For an artist who also produces, that is a steady pace.
