Sarkodie Arrives in Kumasi, Hits the Airwaves Ahead of Rapperholic Kumasi 2026
Sarkodie is back in Kumasi, and the countdown to Rapperholic Kumasi 2026 has properly started. The rapper arrived in the Garden City on Tuesday, 20 October, and spent the day on local radio, telling fans on X that he had “touched the soil” alongside the hashtag #RapperholicKumasi26.
Photos he shared from the arrival show him standing through the sunroof of a car as fans on motorbikes and on foot followed the convoy through the streets.
Sarkodie on Akoma FM and Ahenfie FM
Shortly after landing, Sarkodie posted that he was “live on Akoma 87.9 fm”, and later in the day he was at Ahenfie 106.1. Wrapping up the media rounds, he shared pictures from both stations and wrote simply, “What a beautiful day.”
He also reposted a short video from a group of his fans, the Sark Royals, who said they were preparing for the show, adding that “no one does it better.”
Rapperholic Kumasi 2026: date, venue and what to expect
Rapperholic Kumasi 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, 24 October 2026 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Sarkodie first confirmed the date in August with a post that apologised to “Oseikrom” for the wait.
This will be the second Kumasi edition of his flagship concert. Last year’s show, billed as Rapperholic: The Homecoming, took place at the same stadium and marked the first time the brand, long associated with Accra in December, was staged in the Ashanti Region. The rapper has spoken about his roots in the city before, most notably on his homecoming record Asante Yɛ Oman.
Sarkodie has not named guest performers for this year’s show in his posts so far.
VIP and VVIP ticket banter
Tickets have been a talking point on his timeline. On Monday he posted a light-hearted complaint about the “VIP x VVIP tickets”, and when a fan replied that those categories were finished, he answered in Twi suggesting some were still available. To another fan who wished they could buy ten tickets for fellow SarkNatives, he joked: “Why what’s the hold up??”
A busy season for Sarkodie
The Kumasi show lands in the middle of a busy run for the rapper. He recently released “Deja Vu” with KiDi, the lead single from his upcoming Deja Vu EP, and has already announced Rapperholic UK at The O2 in London for 6 March 2027. Fans can also revisit his recent collaborations, including Strongman’s “Lomo (League Of My Own)”.
