GhanaSong.org Interview: Obourba Talks About His New Song “MY TIME”

GhanaSong.org recently caught up with Ghanaian musician Prince Ofori, popularly known as Obourba, who is currently based in Japan, to talk about his music career and his newly released single, “MY TIME.”

Speaking during the interview, Obourba shared that music has always been an important part of his life and that he remains committed to representing Ghanaian music wherever he goes.

When asked about his latest release, “MY TIME,” the singer explained that the song is very personal to him.

“The song is about believing in yourself and staying patient through life’s challenges,” Obourba said. “Many people work hard but don’t see immediate results. ‘MY TIME’ is a reminder that everyone has their own season, and when your time comes, nobody can stop your blessings.”

He revealed that he decided to bring Mr. Benchie and Bkay onto the project because he felt their styles and energy matched the message of the song.

“I wanted artists who could connect with the story and bring something special to it. Mr. Benchie and Bkay did exactly that, and I’m grateful for their contribution,” he said.

Obourba also praised the production team behind the record, noting that Nana Beatz produced the song while Possigee handled the mixing and mastering.

“They understood the vision from the beginning and helped bring the song to life,” he added.

According to Obourba, the title “MY TIME” reflects the journey many people go through before achieving success.

“Sometimes people give up because things are not moving fast enough. This song encourages people to keep going. Your breakthrough can come at any moment, and that’s why I called it ‘MY TIME’,” he explained.

The Japan-based artist encouraged fans to listen to the song and share it with friends and family.
