Joe Mettle to Headline Ɔdadeɛ Torch & Bonfire Night 2026 at PRESEC
Gospel minister Joe Mettle will headline this year’s Ɔdadeɛ Torch & Bonfire Night, the annual celebration put together by old students of Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon.
The Ɔdadeɛ-Presec Alumni confirmed the booking on X on Monday, 26 October, opening the post with “ƆDADEƐS, IT’S OFFICIAL!” and describing the 2026 event, dubbed the ADO9 Edition, as a night of praise, thanksgiving and fellowship. The school’s official PRESEC Legon account repeated the news on Wednesday morning, confirming Joe Mettle as the headline artiste.
Ɔdadeɛ Torch & Bonfire Night 2026: date, venue and what to expect
According to the alumni body’s countdown post, the event comes off on Friday, 30 October 2026, at 6:00 PM at the PRESEC School Park in Legon.
The ADO9 tag explains the mood of the night. This edition celebrates PRESEC’s ninth National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) title, and organisers told MyJoyOnline that thanksgiving will sit at the centre of the programme. Old boys, their year groups and friends of the school are all invited.
A follow-up post from the alumni lists Team Eternity Ghana, Daughters of Glorious Jesus and the PRESEC Torch Band on the bill alongside Joe Mettle, with DJ Mark Tonto also named. Lexis Bill and Kofi Darlington appear on the flyer as well. As the name suggests, the night includes a torchlight procession and the lighting of the bonfire, with music and dancing to follow. No ticket details were given in the posts we saw.
A worship-heavy night for the Ɔdadeɛ family
The choice of Joe Mettle points to a night built around praise rather than a straight party. The 2017 VGMA Artiste of the Year is known for songs such as Bo Noo Ni, My Everything and Yesu Mo, and his live ministrations usually turn into long sing-along sessions.
It is also a change of flavour from 2024, when dancehall star Stonebwoy was the main act, according to MyJoyOnline. The event made its comeback in 2023.
A busy season for Joe Mettle
The PRESEC booking comes days after Joe Mettle returned from Rwanda, where he ministered at Praise Unlimited 2026 at BK Arena in Kigali. He is also one of the names on the KAVOD 26 line-up for Nacee’s show at the National Theatre on 8 November, a show we first reported when Nacee announced KAVOD 26.
If you are getting ready for Friday, his songs are a good warm-up. A few of them sit on our list of the best Ghana gospel songs, and you can also revisit his single This Year.
