Joe Mettle Ministers at Praise Unlimited 2026 in Kigali: Highlights From BK Arena
Ghanaian gospel minister Joe Mettle was part of the line-up that took over the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, on Sunday night for Praise Unlimited 2026, the live recording concert put together by Halal Afrika.
Clips from the night have been going round on social media since Monday. One video, shared on Instagram by the account png.intwali and tagged to Joe Mettle and Halal Afrika, shows the Onwanwani singer leading the crowd through the old chorus “Give Me Oil in My Lamp”, with the caption crediting the performance to “Halal Afrika Kigali 2026”.
Praise Unlimited 2026: how the night went
Rwandan media house EAMG TV described the event on X on Monday as “a historic night of gospel music”. According to the post, this was the fifth edition of Praise Unlimited, and the live recording featured Israel Mbonyi, Ben & Chance, Joe Mettle, Evelyn Wanjiru and True Promises Ministries, among others.
The organisers, Halal Afrika, also shared a short clip before the programme started on Sunday, captioned “Before the action”, and followed up on Monday with photos from the red carpet at the arena. At a press conference ahead of the show, Halal Afrika said its main aim is “to unite Africa through worship”.
We had previewed the concert on Saturday. As we reported in our Praise Unlimited 2026 preview, the flyer billed acts from Ghana, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Nigeria and Kenya, with fellow Ghanaian Grace Charles also on the bill. Because the concert was billed as a live recording, the songs ministered on the night are expected to come out later, although no date has been announced.
A busy month for Joe Mettle
Kigali was not the only stage Joe Mettle has been on lately. Last week, gospel blogger Clement Afreh shared a clip of him ministering at the grand finale of the World Assemblies of God Congress 2026, singing the same “Oil in My Lamp” chorus.
He is also not slowing down after Rwanda. VBCI Glory Sanctuary announced that Joe Mettle would lead worship at its Wonderful Jesus Conference on Monday, 26 October, at the Dominion Sanctuary, Awoshie Junction, from 5:30 PM.
The 2017 Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year has a catalogue that travels well, from “Mehia wo Yesu” and “Nhyira” to his 2026 single “This Year”. “Mehia wo Yesu” sits at number two on our list of the best Ghana gospel songs.
