Shatta Wale Wishes Sarkodie Well on Rapperholic Kumasi Night, Sarkodie Replies

Shatta Wale took to X on Saturday night to wish Sarkodie well as the rapper took his Rapperholic concert back to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, and Sarkodie has replied with love.

Shortly after 8:30pm on Saturday, 24 October, the dancehall star wrote: “Good luck my G @sarkodie 🙏💜 Tonite is history repeating itself.” The post quickly gathered thousands of likes from fans of both camps.

A few hours later, just after midnight, Sarkodie quoted the post and responded simply: “My G 👑👑”.

Shatta Wale and Sarkodie: why the exchange matters

The two are among the biggest names in Ghanaian music, and their fan bases have not always seen eye to eye online. That is why a public show of support from Shatta Wale on Sarkodie’s big night got people talking on the timeline.

It also comes only a week after Shatta Wale’s own birthday concert. As we reported, he thanked fans after ShattaFest 2026 at the Accra Sports Stadium and told critics he “didn’t come to compete.” He did not explain what he meant by “history repeating itself” in his message to Sarkodie.

Efya also sends support

Shatta Wale was not the only artist cheering Sarkodie on. Singer Efya also posted on X, telling the rapper to “give them fire tonight” and calling him “Landlord”, with the hashtag #rapperholickumasi26. Sarkodie replied to her with “Got you”.

Before heading on stage, Sarkodie had rallied his fans in Twi with the post “Abusua Me kɔ Rapperholic Aba”, and early on Sunday morning he followed up with a short thank-you message on X.

Rapperholic Kumasi 2026: what we know so far

Rapperholic Kumasi 2026 was held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Saturday, 24 October, the second year running that the brand has been staged in the Garden City. Ahead of the night, Sarkodie announced that VIP tickets had sold out, after spending the week doing radio rounds in the city, as we covered when he arrived in Kumasi.

At the time of writing, Sarkodie had not yet shared a full recap of the show or named the guests who joined him on stage. His next big Rapperholic date is The O2 in London on 6 March 2027.
