Empress Gifty Gets Brand-New Car From Husband Hopeson Adorye in Birthday Surprise

Gospel musician Empress Gifty was left emotional after her husband, Hopeson Yaovi Adorye, surprised her with a brand-new car as part of a surprise birthday celebration at home.

The singer shared a video of the moment on her official Facebook page on Thursday, 5 November 2026, with the caption, “That feeling when you’re completely overwhelmed by love…”

How the surprise happened

According to Empress Gifty, she had only just returned from a trip when she walked into her house to find some of her closest friends gathered to celebrate her birthday with her. “I was speechless!” she wrote.

She said the biggest surprise of the day was the car itself, which she described in her post as a Changan Q07 plug-in hybrid, 2026 model, and a gift from her husband.

The video shows a visibly emotional Empress Gifty as the gift is revealed to her.

Empress Gifty thanks her husband

Directing her message to Hopeson Adorye, the ‘Sunsum Ndwom’ singer wrote, “I am truly humbled and so grateful for your love and support,” before adding a prayer for God to bless him.

Within hours, the post had drawn hundreds of reactions on Facebook, with fans dropping congratulatory messages in the comments.

She also posted a short message of thanks to God on the same page.

A busy season for the gospel star

The celebration comes during a busy stretch for Empress Gifty. She is currently promoting her latest song, Sunsum Ndwom, whose official video went up in October, and she recently asked fans to vote for her at the Sacred Crown Awards 2026, where she was nominated for Outstanding Woman In Gospel Ministry.

She remains one of the most recognisable faces in Ghana gospel music, having been named Ghana’s Outstanding Entertainer of the Year in 2025. For more worship and praise favourites, see our list of the best Ghana gospel songs.

For now, Empress Gifty has a new car to show for her birthday, and plenty of love from her fans.
