Sarkodie Lands in Kenya on ‘The African Diaries’ Trip, Does Nairobi Radio Run

Sarkodie is in Nairobi. The Ghanaian rapper announced on X that he had “just landed in Kenya”, and by Wednesday morning he was moving from one Kenyan radio studio to the next under a new hashtag, #TheAfricanDiaries.

Sarkodie says the trip is to visit, not to perform

The trip did not come out of nowhere. On Saturday, 31 October, Sarkodie wrote on X that he had told his team he wanted to visit some African countries after Kumasi, “not to perform but just visit”. He named four countries for the trip, starting from Monday: Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Nigeria.

The Kumasi he was talking about is Rapperholic Kumasi 2026, the big homecoming show he thanked SarkNation for a few days earlier.

Radio run in Nairobi

After landing, Sarkodie told fans on X that it was “great to be back” in Nairobi. Later he added that although he had been to Kenya before, “Kenya is too beautiful”, tagging the post #TheAfricanDiaries “by yours truly”.

Capital FM Kenya had announced on Tuesday that he would take over its show The Fuse from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Wednesday, and Sarkodie quoted the post, saying he couldn’t wait to see his Kenyan fans. On Wednesday he posted that he would be live on Kiss 100 Kenya, then that he was live on Homeboyz Radio, and later shared a photo from the Capital FM studio.

By Wednesday evening he shared a short video captioned “Thank you Africa”, tagged #TheAfricanDiaries and #RapperholicUk27, on both X and Instagram.

What else is going on with Sarkodie

The trip comes during a busy season for the Rapperholic. He is pushing his Deja Vu EP, which opened with the KiDi-assisted title song, followed by ‘Cold’ featuring OliveTheBoy. He has also been promoting Rapperholic UK, which his posts say will take place at The O2 in London on 6 March 2027 – the reason that hashtag keeps showing up on his Africa posts.

Sarkodie has not shared dates for the Uganda, Tanzania or Nigeria legs, so it is not yet clear where #TheAfricanDiaries heads after Nairobi.
