Sarkodie Touches Down in Uganda for the First Time as ‘The African Diaries’ Moves On From Kenya

Sarkodie has arrived in Uganda, and he says it is his first time there. The rapper posted on X on Saturday, 7 November: “Touch down Uganda 🇺🇬 … My first time out here”, tagging it with the same #TheAfricanDiaries hashtag he has used throughout his trip.

The post came after several days in Kenya, where he did a radio run in Nairobi and shared videos from around the city. We reported on Sarkodie’s arrival in Kenya and his Nairobi radio run earlier this week.

Sarkodie in Uganda: what he has said so far

So far the Uganda post is short. Sarkodie has not shared any plans for Kampala, radio stops or meetings, and he has not said how long he will stay. What is clear is that the visit is part of the trip he announced on 31 October. He wrote then that he wanted to visit some African countries “not to perform but just visit”, and he named Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Nigeria.

Ugandan fans filled the replies under his post, many of them welcoming him to “the Pearl”, as the country is popularly called.

How the Kenya leg ended

Before he left Kenya, Sarkodie posted some of the most-watched clips of the trip. On Friday he shared a video tagging Mathare Kids Talents Hub, with his song ‘Dangerous’ credited in the caption. He joked that he wasn’t “returning back to Ghana”, adding “Kenya adopt me already” with a laughing emoji. The post had passed 1.4 million views on X by Sunday morning.

A day later he posted a short film titled “First 48 in Nairobi Kenya”, crediting @mironkoproductions and @dric_ent for the camera work. Earlier in the week he also told fans to “touch grass” in a Kenya post on Instagram.

What’s next for Sarkodie

Tanzania and Nigeria are the two countries left on the list he shared, but he has not given dates for either. Back home, his music keeps coming. He features on Wendy Shay’s new song, and you can watch Wendy Shay’s ‘This & That’ video featuring Sarkodie here. He is also still promoting his Deja Vu EP and Rapperholic UK, which his posts say will be held at The O2 in London on 6 March 2027.

The trip started soon after Rapperholic Kumasi, the show after which he thanked SarkNation and called for more investment in the creative economy.
