However, Yaw Sarpong’s former manager, Nana Poku Ashis, has made it clear that the two were never in a romantic relationship. Speaking in an interview with Sammy Kay Media on January 20, 2026, he explained that Maame Tiwaa and Yaw Sarpong were simply very close friends.

According to him, they had been friends for more than 30 years and understood each other deeply. He said Maame Tiwaa understood Yaw Sarpong better than almost anyone else, and their relationship was built on loyalty and mutual respect, not romance.

Ashis explained that the two never dated and were never married. He said their closeness came from working together in ministry, which made them spend a lot of time together. Because of this, people often saw them together, and at one point, they even lived in the same house to make it easier for them to travel to shows.
