About Daasebre Gyamenah

Daasebre Gyamenah (also spelled Daasebre Dwamena; born Abubakar Siddiq in Koforidua in 1968) was one of the most loved voices in Ghanaian highlife. His breakthrough album Kokooko came out in 1999, and he went on to record favourites such as “Odo Yede”, “Ahoofe” and “Yenfii Ta”. His final album, Yenfii Ta, was released in January 2016.

Daasebre passed away on 29 July 2016 in Accra. His emotional love songs, like “Gye Me”, keep his memory alive for highlife fans across Ghana.
